The United Nations Convention on Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) indicates that the exclusive economic zone (EEZ) of a coastal state extends 200 nm from the baseline. Within this area, the coastal nation has sole exploitation rights over all natural resources.
Namibia has ratified this convention.
